Here’s a list of our favorite protein smoothie recipes based on their low sugar and high protein content.
Notice that all of the recipes below require protein powder. You are welcome to use whichever brand you like. It’s always good to have an unflavoured or vanilla flavor protein powder that can be used in different recipes without affecting the flavor of the drink too much.
You will also need some kind of blender. We love our nutribullet and it comes with handy accessories which converts your cups into flasks with lips.
1. Peanut Butter, Banana and Strawberry Smoothie
Ingredients
- Half a banana
- 1 tsp Cacao nibs
- 1/2 cup of strawberries
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 cups greek yoghurt
- 1/2 cup ice
Method
Blend all of the ingredients in a blender and enjoy.
2. Key lime pie protein smoothie
ingredients
- 2 tsp fresh lime juice
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 2 tbsp oats
- 1 cups ice

3. Green protein Shake
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond milk
- 3 1/4 inch slices of cucumber
- 1 cup spinach
- 1/2 banana
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Ingredients
- 1/4 Avocado
- 1/4 banana
- 1/2 cup strawberries
- 1 cup almond milk
- 3 tbsp oats
- 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
Method
Blend all of the ingredients in a blender.
5. Berry and Cacao Protein Smoothie
ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 tsp cacao nibs or powder
- 2 tbsp oats
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup ice
Method
Combine the ingredients in your blender and blitz for 20 seconds.
6. Banana and Oat Coffee Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp oats
- 1 banana
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 espresso shot
- 4 cubes of ice
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Method
Add all of the ingredients to the blender and blend for 20 seconds.
7. Cashew Latte Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 double espresso shot of coffee or half a cup brewed instant coffee
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 cup cashew nuts
- 2 tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1/2 banana
- Pinch of sea salt
- 3 ice cubes
Method
Blend all of the ingredients and enjoy on your way to work.

- 1 cm cube fresh ginger
- 1 cup mango
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Blend all of the ingredients in a blender for about 20 seconds.
